How we can help

Gross motor skills involve a child’s ability to control large muscle movements to engage in activities like running, jumping, and balancing. These skills are foundational for fine motor skills and are essential for everyday activities and play. We help children build full body strength, coordination, and confidence through fun, engaging activities tailored to their needs to support their physical development.

Gross Motor Development

We support children’s unique style of play, building on their play preferences, interests, values and strengths to develop their social and communication skills in various social and learning environments - however that may look!

Social & Play Development

Executive Function & Daily Living Skills

Develop executive functioning and daily living skills, such as attention, planning, organisation, time management, problem-solving, emotional regulation and self-control to support transitions, independence and performance in everyday tasks.

Children thrive when they feel safe, supported, and have a sense of belonging. Since the beginnings of the profession, Occupational therapy has played a vital role in supporting mental health and overall wellbeing. We create a nurturing environment where children and their families improve their sense of belonging, develop emotional resilience, manage stress, express and understand their emotions, develop regulation skills, and foster a growth mindset, helping them feel empowered to navigate life's challenges with confidence and the right tools.

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Fine motor skills involve the ability to control and coordinate small muscle movements of the hands and fingers. These skills are essential for everyday tasks like handwriting, typing, drawing, buttoning clothes, tying shoelaces, self-care tasks and eating. Developing fine motor skills helps children gain independence in daily activities and supports their academic and social growth.

Sensory Processing & Regulation

Sensory processing is how the brain interprets information from the body’s eight sensory systems to help us understand and interact with the world. These systems are foundational to a child’s development, functioning, and wellbeing. By providing tailored sensory strategies and environmental adjustments, we support children in managing sensory input so they can feel safe, stay regulated, and confidently participate in the classroom and everyday activities.

Our Services

Individual Sessions

We are a mobile-based occupational therapy service, where we visit your child’s kindy, school, or home to provide occupational therapy in familiar settings. Thrive OT focuses on therapy in your child’s natural environment where activities are meaningful and directly related to their daily lives - leading to greater outcomes. We collaborate with the whole family unit, your child’s educators and treating health professionals to support development of various skills within yours and your child’s everyday routines.

Assessments & Reports

We utilise a range of assessments (formal and informal) and therapeutic approaches when working with your child to achieve their goals. We can provide comprehensive assessments and reports to assist with NDIS funding requests, and to help your child access therapies and programmes. We work closely with you, your child’s healthcare providers, and educators to ensure your child receives the right support, therapies, and resources. We advocate for your child’s needs so you can focus on their growth and progress with confidence.

We also offer MedicoLegal assessments/reports - please contact us to see if we can support you with your specific needs.

Our group sessions aim to provide a safe and supportive environment so children have opportunity to build social connections with peers outside of school, through shared special interests. Our group sessions facilitate socioemotional wellbeing like improved sense of belonging, and simultaneously have a functional focus supporting other therapy goals such as fine and gross motor skill development, executive functioning and regulation. These are held both during school term and holidays.

Group Sessions

Telehealth services provide a convenient and flexible way for children and families to access therapy, enhancing accessibility and allowing face-to-face communication despite geographical distance.
